Setting up buffet catering on a cruise has always been one of our favourite food services. Catering Penang DotCom hosted a mini catering for a VIP group. Despite the confined space, we managed to set up a variety of dishes in the dining space. The guests, who are travellers, gobbled down a meal of both Western and Malaysian food.
Hi Tea Menu with More Savoury and Filling Options
When discussing the menu with the organiser, we agreed to have more finger food. Since guests will be walking around the cruise’s deck. It is not a typical hi-tea menu as there was a request to have more filling dishes too. Therefore, the menu features Spaghetti, Thermidor, Satay and Lamb Chop.

The menu included:
Spaghetti Bolognese
Belacan Fried Chicken
Vegetarian Kurma
Seafood Thermidor
Lamb Chop
Nestum Fried Prawns
Mixed Vegetables
Chicken Satay
Bruschetta
Fried Spring Roll
Chicken Pie
Pizza
Assorted Nyonya Kuih
Fresh Fruits
Orange Cordial
Hot Coffee
Just like how the hi tea menu sounds, it was a pleasant marriage of colours and flavours. It was an enjoyable catering service experience since the small group were exceptionally friendly and we exchanged thoughts about food and cultural differences. With many dishes coming in smaller portions, the guests get to taste many flavours. Certain dishes were close to a canape catering too. They truly enjoyed the food and views of the calm ocean.
Other services that we provide include canopy instalations, tables and chairs, coolers, bottled drinking water, decorations and clown service. Or add action stalls like ice kacang for your birthday catering. Even if you’re eyeing a fully vegetarian catering or a buffet catering service, you’re in safe hands with Catering Penang DotCom.
